Joseph Jacobs is currently the instrumental music teacher for the Ventnor Public Schools, a position he has enjoyed for the past 30 years. He is a graduate of Temple University where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music degree.
The NJ State Assembly recognized Mr. Jacobs as an Outstanding Teacher in Atlantic County in 1994. He was named Teacher of the Year in the Ventnor School District in 1999 and he received a NJ Best Practice Award in 2004 for his Sound and Sight project. In 2015 he received the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award from the NJ Music Educators Association.
Joseph Jacobs is the Immediate Past President of the NJ Music Educators Association and a Past President of the South Jersey Band and Orchestra Association. He has been a member of the NJ Music Educators Association Executive Board for eight years and is currently the Secretary of the South Jersey Band and Orchestra Association.
