Su Min Kim

Su Min Kim is a student from the class of 2018 and currently attends Bergen County Academies. She has received three gold keys, three silver keys, and two honorable mentions in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. As a result, she has won a full scholarship to the Kenyon Review Young Writer’s Workshop, which she will be attending this summer. Two of her poems were published in Just Poetry!!!, the national poetry quarterly and Aerie International, a literary magazine. She also received a Judge’s Choice award and a Poem of Place award in the New Jersey Poetry Laureate Contest. Su Min enjoys not only literature and creative writing, but also biology and chemistry. She is actively involved in her school’s science magazine as the Features Editor as well as her school newspaper as the School News Editor. As a student with a variety of interests, she may be found working in her school’s cell biology research lab, flipping through articles of National Geographic, or writing short stories and poetry – wherever her interests take her.
