March-01-06
The fourth annual report of a comprehensive study of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) finds that this major legislation is changing the face of education in the United States. Aside from the positive effects of NCLB, greater burdens, inadequate funding, and the focus on raising test scores may be infringing on arts education. Twenty-two percent of survey respondents admit to reducing time for arts and music to increase instructional time for reading and math.
