New Jersey Arts Education Resources: Education Policy
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
United States Congress
January-01-01
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 is profoundly impacting education and the arts in America. Under the act, the “arts” were named as a core subject. Another section of the act deals specifically with arts education, offering rhetorical support for efforts on behalf of arts education and funding for cultural partnership programs.  In addition, any general education programs can be used to support arts education.
