| Developed by the Consortium of National Arts Education Associations,
the National Standards for Arts Education is a document which outlines
basic arts learning outcomes integral to the comprehensive K-12
education of every American student. Published in 1994, the National
Standards for Arts Education are a statement of what every young
American should know and be able to do in four arts disciplines—dance,
music, theatre, and the visual arts. Their scope is grades K–12, and
they speak to both content and achievement. |

The New Jersey Arts Education Census Project is a partnership between the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey State Department of Education, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, under the direction of Music for All.
