#ArtsEdNow Featured Event: Windows of Understanding

Windows of Understanding: "Flight to Fears"

The New Brunswick Middle School has participated in this event for the last 3 years. Each year we select a social justice cause and create an art installation for a window in a storefront in New Brunswick.

This year we are showing awareness to Gun Violence. Our artwork will be featured at The Hungarian Foundation 300 Somerset Street.

Art Club Artist statement:

Gun violence has affected millions in the past few years. Unfortunately most gun violence activity is school shootings. This has put our nation in fear. To name a few examples of school shootings that has spread fear in the hearts of families and students, The Sandy Hook elementary school shooting on Dec. 14, 2012 where 27 students and staff tragically died, Columbine High School, where 17 died and 24 injured, Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 died and 17 injured, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, with 33 deaths and 27 injured. In our art installation we wanted to show awareness to these innocent souls who lost their lives and in hopes no more lives are lost to Gun Violence.
