The Alternate Route Initiative was born from conversations with our partners to target these goals:

- Create a useful resource that encourages and eases the process for working artists/teaching artists to become full time arts educators.
- Address the recruitment needs for arts educators in NJ.
- Identify the real barriers and the possible policy levers we can use to advocate for a better system.
