| Emily Wang, a senior at Watchung Hills Regional High School, has been studying violin under Mrs. Yousun Kim for 11 years. She has served as the concertmaster of the CJMEA Region II and NJMEA All-State orchestras and the New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS). She won 1st prize in the VIVO International Music Competition, the gold award in the IMPACT International Young Artist Competition, and 1st place in NJMTA Young Musicians Competition. Additionally, she was the 2024 NJYS Concerto Competition winner and performed in the 2025 National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Orchestra. Emily has also hosted monthly senior center concerts as president of the international non-profit called IMPACT Youth Club and performed for senior citizens and hospital patients in Italy and Taiwan, spreading her love for music across international communities. Emily would like to thank CJMEA and NJMEA for the incredible opportunities and friendships she has gained from playing in the orchestras since 6th grade. She will be attending Duke University this fall and plans to minor in Music. |
