Krystal Hall-Glass

Recognized by the LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts as one of its “notable alumni,” Krystal- Hall Glass appeared on Broadway in “The Wiz” while attending the Julliard School on a dance scholarship. After an illustrious performing career, Ms. Hall-
Glass became the first African American graduate from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance with an MFA in Performance/Teaching. Krystal has worked with choreographers Sarah Stackhouse, Michael Peters, Earl Mosley, Nathan Trice, Shirley Black-Brown, Otis Sallid, George Faison, Andrea Woods, Raymond Harris, Keith Lee, legendary actor Ossie Davis; famed jazz musicians Max Roach and Cassandra Reeves. She toured nationally and internationally as principle dancer with Kevin Iega Jeff’s highly acclaimed Jubilation! Dance Company garnering a Bessie nomination and numerous reviews for her solo dance performances. In 2022 her Bessie nominated performance was acknowledged and archived in the Lincoln Center Library in the “Meeting with the Roses.”

The recipient of a choreographic grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, her choreography has been performed by members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, Creative Outlet, Opus Dance Theatre Company, The Julliard School and The Frankfurt Ballet. As a teaching artist Ms. Glass has instructed at Lincoln Center Institute, LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, Newark’s Arts High School, Professional Performing Arts High School, Howard University, City College, SUNY Purchase, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, The Mark Morris Dance Center, The 45 Degrees Project and Koresh Dance Company. The resident choreographer of Riverdale Children’s Theatre Krystal has been cited six times in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” for her contributions to the art of dance and recognized twice by the New York Foundation of the Arts for her work with promising dance students.

As an arts administrator Ms. Hall-Glass served as the dance director for the landmarked Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center and the famed Harlem School of the Arts where under her directorship over 50 students were accepted into professional performing arts dance programs within a 5-year period. (The Juilliard School, SUNY Purchase, Boston Conservatory, University of the Arts, Ailey /Fordham Program, Howard University LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts and Professional Performing Arts High School) Expounding on her ability to foster excellence in the dance arts, Krystal is the president and founder of Krystal Glass (e)Motion By Design a support company which maximizes the performance, professionalism, and presentations dancers, and like organizations. As of August 2024, Krystal is certified as a functional nutrition counselor.
