Caleb Woo is currently a senior, Class of 2018, at Ridge High School. During his high school career, he has consistently placed as top chair in the Region, All State, All Eastern, and All National Bands. As a soloist, Caleb has competed nationally, earning 2nd prize in the 2018 North American Saxophone Alliance High School Solo Competition and a YoungArts Honorable Mention in Classical Music. In addition, he has also placed 2nd in the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra Goldwasser Young Artist Concerto Competition, 1st in the East Coast International Competition, and 1st in the New York International Music Concours. Caleb attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Wind Ensemble and Saxophone Workshop in 2015 and will attend again this summer. His principal teachers are Professor Kenneth Radnofsky, Dr. Geoffrey Landman, and Mr. Jason Wexler. Caleb’s favorite subject in school is science and he is a hardcore New York Yankees fan. This fall, Caleb plans on studying Saxophone Performance and Biology as part of a Dual Degree Program at a soon to be determined school.
