Rachel Maselek is a senior (Class of 2018) at Gloucester County Institute of Technology and a student of the School of Performing Arts. She is excited to have been a part of the full journey of Thespian Troupe 5480’s group number “Snuff That Girl.” She loved playing her character, “Little Becky Two Shoes” in GCIT’s production of the show, Urinetown, in which her portrayal won a Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Award last year. Always prioritizing academics, she is a member of her school’s chapter of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She serves as Treasurer of Thespian Troupe 5480 and competed in the state thespian festival for the past two years, earning medals for multiple events qualifying her for the International Thespian Festival, where she will return this June. Outside of school, she is member of Mainstage Center for the Arts’ Harmony Show Choir and staff member for the Mainstage Summer Stage program. In the future, she plans to major in Secondary Education-Mathematics due to her love of numbers, but will also be double majoring in Theater to fulfill her love of the arts and hopes to one day teach both her favorite subjects: math and theater.
