Thomas McLaughlin is (finally) a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School. He is the president of the award-winning Thespian Troupe 7964 here at the high school, and he will be traveling with the Troupe to the glorious land of Nebraska this June for the National Competition. Previously Thomas has graced the stage as Lloyd Dallas in Noises Off, Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone, the Commissioner/Ball player in Damn Yankees, and a player in Pippin. Yet, his greatest triumph on stage has been hotly debated by theatre critics worldwide. Some say it was when he delivered a thunderous performance as Big Jule in Guys and Dolls. Others believe it was when he soared to stardom as Scuttle in The Little Mermaid. Regardless, Thomas is very thankful for his career on stage in the Valley; there is no way for him to describe the love and gratitude he feels without resorting to cliches. Theatre has given him a medium for personal and artistic expression, without which he would not be the person he is today. And when he stumbles, bumbles, and fumbles, his parents are always there to help him along. Thomas plans to study theatre in college.
