Dr. Deborah Ward

Deborah is a lifelong advocate for the arts and a scholar whose work bridges research, policy, and community impact. She holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., M.P.A., and B.A. from Columbia University, where she specialized in political science, urban politics, and economic development. Before founding her consulting practice, Deborah served as an Associate Research Professor and Director of the Economic Development Research Group at Rutgers University and taught on the graduate faculty at Columbia University. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with local governments, school districts, and nonprofit organizations to design and implement policies that strengthen communities and expand access to opportunities. For the past twelve years, Deborah’s research has centered on the essential role of arts education in fostering student growth mindset, academic achievement, and long-term success. She is deeply committed to elevating this evidence, widening support for the arts, and ensuring that every young person has access to high-quality arts education.
